We're very excited to share with you the 2009-2010 National Reflections Program State Results where several of our Hopkinton students/entries placed! This year we even have two students who placed first in their category, moving them up to the national level of competition. That's truly wonderful! You can find the complete state results listing on the Massachusetts PTA website at http://www.masspta.org/news/2010-reflections-winners.html. Please join us in congratulating the following Hopkinton students who placed at the state level of competition! Hopkinton did very well!
*These students move onto the national level of competition! Congratulations and we wish Good Luck to both of you! Keep on Creating! Your Reflections Art Chairs, Selina Paolucci Deb Kelly February 10, 2010 CONGRATULATIONS to those in the LITERATURE CATEGORY - Primary Division, who were able to be part of a local judging. In order to conduct local judging, there needs to be a minimum of 3 entries in a category, by 3 different students. This year, only Visual Arts-Primary Division had enough entries to hold a local judging. Thank you also to our local judges Kate Heyd & Sandra Livis from the CAA! We enlist artists from the Hopkinton Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) with talents/strengths in the particular category that is being judged. They are independent judges who generously volunteer their time for the program. We thank Kate and Sandra (also from the Hopkinton Independent) for being local judges this year. LOCAL JUDGING RESULTS: LITERATURE CATEGORY - Primary Division January 11, 2010 A big "THANK YOU" to the following 14 students for submitting an entry/entries in this years' PTA Reflections Program. Their entries will be on display and they will receive recognition for participating in this year's program. For the final, state-results posting, go to the PTA National website: Please join me in congratulating our state winners! Hopkinton did very well! Keep on creating! Selina Paolucci February 2009 This year, Hopkinton received 19 submissions among 13 candidates participating in this year's 2008-09 National Reflections Program. All entries are currently at the state level of competition. We should receive the state results by March end. At the HPTA year-end meeting (May), we will hold a small ceremony recognizing ALL entrants, displaying ALL submissions and rewarding those who placed at either the local or state level. Thank you to the following Hopkinton students for their beautiful entries! Center School / Preschool: Elmwood School: Hopkins School: Middle School: In order to have a LOCAL competition, a category must have 3 or more entries. This year we received 7 entries in the Primary Division (preschool - Grade 2) for the category of Visual Arts. So this allowed us to hold a local judging/competition for just this category. These 7 entries were judged locally. Congratulations to the following candidates! LOCAL Visual Arts Winners - Primary Division: Keep in mind that ALL entries go onto state, regardless of local competition results, starting with a clean slate. The local results have no weight at the state level. So there are new opportunities for these and all other entrants. We're excited with the increased number of entries this year and the beautiful entries we have received. Again, congratulations to those who were part of the local competition! And, we hope to see our Hopkinton students recognized for their beautiful works of art at the state level of judging! We'll be in touch soon. Keep on creating... Selina Paolucci & Deb Kelly |
