The HPTA has awarded three scholarships this year to graduating seniors whose high school career have embodied “the Spirit of Volunteerism.” This year’s winners are Hope Hellberg, Lindsay Kramer, and James Paras. Each of these three students volunteered countless hours of their time to help, serve, and improve the lives and environments of those around them both within Hopkinton High School and the greater Hopkinton community. Furthermore these young adults have taken the initiative to begin and foster some of these activities. “This is my fourth year on the Scholarship Committee and I am continually astounded at what the students here in Hopkinton take on and accomplish.” said Maureen Belger, Scholarship Committee Chair. The scholarship winners were announced at Senior Recognition Night on June 4th and presented by the HPTA to the School Committee and all of Hopkinton at the meeting on June 11th.

Lindsay Kramer (Photo, rear, center) has organized the Thanksgiving Turkey Drive supporting the Salvation Army for the past tow years. Lindsay has also spent time each week at the Senior Center. One of Lindsay’s largest contributions to the community has been through her work with Best Buddies. She has been involved for the past 3 years; this past one serving as chapter president. Lindsay will be attending Hamilton College in the fall.
