Parent Programs

The HPTA Parent Programs Committee hosts programs and workshops on a variety of parenting and educational topics.

If you are new to our schools, please mark your calendar for the HPTA General Meeting on Mon., Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Elmwood School. The General Meeting will introduce you to the HPTA as well as provide you with an introduction to our school district and the key staff at the five schools.
This is a great opportunity to meet and greet the principal of your child’s school.

There will also be a guest speaker, nutritionist Tracy Harrison, who will discuss how to fuel your child’s brain for school and sports.

While at the General Meeting, stop by the Parent Program table for informative handouts on our school system and the community resources. In addition, be sure to watch HCAM-TV two weeks prior to the meeting to watch our “New Parent Orientation” DVD. This offers parents information about many programs in town that impact students.

Join us on Tues., Oct. 19 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the HCAM-TV studio (77 Main St.) for a workshop presented by the HPTA in conjunction with Hopkinton’s Special Education Advisory Council (SPEAC), entitled “Beating the Homework Wars.”

This timely workshop, facilitated by Caroline Maguire of New England Coaching Services, is designed to help parents learn how to use reward systems, structure, and clear rules to inspire motivation to create homework success!
