Course offerings include the following (please see downloadable form to the right for full details and descriptions):
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Challenge yourself with core, upper and lower body strength exercises mixed with aerobic conditioning in a fun atmosphere. This co-ed
class will show the proper motions for resistance training and core exercises to improve your overall strength, whether it is for a spring
sport or just to get into shape. Instructor Margaret Kennedy is a Health and Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, and 12 time Boston
Marathon Qualifier
SCHOOL SCRABBLE®
Join the million-plus students who are playing SCRABBLE in more than 20,000 schools nationwide through the School Scrabble Program.
Sharpen your vocabulary, logic, math skills, creativity and ability to work in a team to improve your game and most of all to have fun! As
a bonus, top players will have a chance to qualify for the 2008 National School Scrabble Championship and compete for recognition and
cash prizes. Coach Seth Lipkin is a Hopkinton resident and is ranked among the top 50 Scrabble players in the US.
CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP
Do you love to make up stories? Write poetry? Imagine other places? Pretend to be someone else? Bring your wildest imagination to the
Hopkins Writing Workshop. We will focus on having fun with writing, being creative, and discovering how others perceive your writing --
not on spelling and grammar. Participants' interests will guide the workshop as we write together and talk about our work. Instructor
Marguerite Paolino is a freelance writer and Hopkinton resident.
IMPROV COMEDY
Explore the art of improvisation through games and exercises similar to those seen on "Whose line is It Anyway?" Build confidence,
listening and communication skills as you develop comic timing and a personal improv style. Work on teamwork skills to create a troupe
feeling similar to that of Saturday Night Live and other Improv companies. Instructor Mark DiCampo is theater and voice teacher.
SING LIKE AN IDOL
Be coached in vocal technique, song choice, interpreting those songs and making them uniquely your own! Expand your repertoire and
find the best style of music to fit your personality. Learn in a supportive environment that includes 1-on-1 attention and shared student
feedback. Students should come to class with a list of songs and artist they like and if possible vocal tracks or sheet music of 2 songs.
Instructor Mary Scarlata-Rowe is a founder of Enter Stage Left Theater
Registration Deadline is December 30th!
