Sixth Grade Class Raises Money for Project Bread
- The sixth grade class this year raised $834.00 for Project Bread, by the traditional selling of decorated wooden spoons. Led by a group of teachers, student and HPTA parent volunteers, the class decorated the spoons during their free time at home. They were then collected and sold at various venues, such as the 6th grade winter concert, the town holiday stroll and at Colellas.
- Project Bread, a non-profit organization headquartered in East Boston, assists about 400 food pantries in the state, including the one in Hopkinton. In the past three years, the need for their services has doubled. The contributions of this class will go a long way. For example, a mobile food pantry costs about $500 to run, for a week. Many thanks to all those who contributed their time and energy to help this worthwhile organization. Well done!
